We seek to assemble a cohort of teacher-scholars who will offer a strong contribution to the diversity and excellence of UA through teaching, scholarship, service, and collaboration. Specifically, as an urban-research university, we are particularly interested in scholars whose work touches on the pressing needs of cities and urban communities. We welcome candidates in all areas of experimental physical chemistry and forensic chemistry. In addition to the key chemistry curricula at the undergraduate and graduate level, these candidates will be expected to establish an independent, externally funded research group and carry out high-impact investigations that can be disseminated in quality peer review journals and invited or contributed presentations. Competitive applicants will also propose ways to address aspects of diversity in terms of service and outreach, addressing the needs of the highly diverse urban-research community.
Candidates should also include a diversity statement in their application, describing your past and potential contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion. In this statement, applicants should address how these contributions will fit in with UAs mission as an urban-research university.
Required Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have an earned Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or a related discipline and demonstrated active research experience in the study of physical chemistry or forensic chemistry broadly defined.
