About the Role

To evolve our digital cargo proposition, we are looking for a Business Development Manager eager to contribute to identifying and developing viable business and distribution opportunities that are key for implementing our digital strategy. In your role you will be focussing on:

Expanding distribution footprint for digital cargo insurance within the logistics ecosystem

Establishing and nurturing business ventures in targeted markets and partnership clusters

Developing our digital proposition by smartly combining risk transfer & value-added services

Your Contribution

Establish and maintain a systematic approach to identifying, assessing, and qualifying business opportunities along defined selection criteria and KPIs (pipeline management)

Identify key business opportunities in alignment with strategic priorities and business targets, determining business potential, feasibility, and viability (opportunity development)

Build/refine business cases for new distribution partnerships, market expansion and product launch in tight in collaboration with core team members (decision making)

Benchmark our proposition against competitors, identify and propose tactical improvements to ensure competitiveness across targeted markets (benchmarking/competitor analysis)

Monitor logistics and insurtech trends linked with our strategic priorities and targets to identify emerging key industry needs and related risks opportunities (market analysis)

Contribute to developing strategic partnerships, preparing for sales-pitches and commercial negotiations (partnership development)

Professional Experience

University degree (Master’s equivalent) in a relevant field

Several years of working experience in digital business, product, partnership development

Proven track-record in bringing digital propositions to the market (eg., insurtech, ecommerce)

Knowledgeable in developing business models and identifying critical enabling conditions

Experience in commercialisation of digital services including pricing, bundling, cross-selling

Wizard with producing and presenting findings, scenarios, and actionable recommendations

Solid understanding of insurance legal boundaries to ensure feasibility of implementation

Soft Skills

Passionate about people, data and technology

Entrepreneurial, ambitious though realistic with a strong focus on execution

Hyper collaborative, able to deal with uncertainty, differences in opinion and expectations

Excellent communicator able to adapt communication to different audiences and situations

Good listener, team-player sensible about cultural differences

Comfortable with agile working models, engaging and collaborating in virtual teams

Clear and effective communication in English, German or other language a plus

Desired

Working experience in insur-/fintech, logistics, supply chain sectors

Understanding of logistics ecosystem, key actors, and related dynamics
