A progressive global law firm is looking for a highly experienced Business Development professional to provide high quality and effective support for lawyers, with a focus on the firm’s Corporate Division. The Corporate Division is a leading practice across the firm’s network, comprising both Corporate Transactional groups and the Digital Economy, and is central to the success of the firm. There are huge ambitions for the future growth of the Division, which will require significant business development support to help the firm realise their potential. The role holder will enjoy a broad role with responsibilities cross the entire BD and marketing mix and will play a key role in the team, working with the Divisional BD Director and key Corporate partners to develop and execute the BD strategy in order to maximise opportunities to grow revenue in line with the firm’s strategic plan. Maintaining knowledge of key and emerging issues impacting the Corporate Division, you will be required to manage and support the entire opportunity pursuit process, including identifying opportunities, managing opportunity tracking processes, preparing client-focused sales collateral and coordinating partners around pipelines and strategic pursuits. With budgetary responsibility for UK Corporate BD, the Senior Business Development Manager will take a client facing role with key clients including conducting, capturing, and ensuring the firm acts on client feedback through client listening, matter and pitch debriefs and will also support all relevant major client opportunities including pitches and proposals. On the marketing side, the successful applicant will develop and implement integrated campaigns, thought leadership, events and other market facing activities, working collaboratively with the firm’s industry teams and communications and marketing specialists, to raise the Corporate Division’s profile in key markets. The ideal candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with substantial business development experience gained in a professional services environment, preferably in a client facing role. Commercially aware and proactive, the Senior Business Development Manager will be a strategic thinker with good people management skills, particularly the ability to build strong business relationships with internal and external clients and the resilience to deal with demanding individuals. Demonstrated leadership experience for both coaching teams and managing major projects and initiatives is prerequisite whilst previous success supporting Corporate practices will be highly advantageous.
