Job description: Job summary

At Independent Health Group (IHG) we offer our staff an innovative, alternative way to delivering health care. We have a very patient-centred approach, offering short waiting times and a positive experience for our patients from referral through to when they are discharged from our care. Working with us will offer you the opportunity to contribute to the development of a fantastic organisation, as well as the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a health care setting.

Our approach delivers consistently good outcomes for our patients, which is reflected by our recent CQC inspection, rating Independent Health Group as OUTSTANDING.

IHG are continuing to see large levels of growth with 20% in activity levels this year and greater growth planned over the coming years. Due to this level of expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated individual, ideally from a healthcare background, to help support this continued development.

Main duties of the job

The Business Development and Contract Manager will lead and manage, in partnership with internal colleagues, existing commissioner and supplier client relationships. You will take the lead on developing new relationships with commissioners and other stakeholders to build new business in line with the organisations strategy.

You will also support internal colleagues to understand and meet contractual obligations.

In addition to a competitive salary, Independent Health Group also offers a generous pension contribution of 6% of your qualified earnings.

We offer 25 days annual leave, a day off for your birthday (if it falls on one of your working days), bank holidays, plus the option to buy up to an additional 2 weeks.

About us

IHG was set up in 2004 by Dr Matthew Wordsworth with the aim of offering patients the choice of being treated out of hospital, closer to home. Matt wanted to create a new health care organisation in which like-minded health care professionals could deliver truly patient centred care. Our aim was to be a leading provider of community-based diagnostic and treatment services of the highest quality, where patients always come first.

Since 2004 we have grown the range of services we offer, and the sites we work from. We provide services from several locations in Wiltshire, Leicester, Gloucester and Devon, offering surgical services including hand surgery, podiatric surgery, hernia, vasectomy and ophthalmology. All the work we undertake is for the NHS.

We pride ourselves on the quality of care we offer our patients. We work in a different kind of environment to that of an acute hospital setting. Our patients see the same clinician and are offered specific appointment times. Our staff work within small teams with plenty of time for patient contact.
