Job Description:
The role is commercially focused with accountability for several important projects simultaneously with a typical horizon of between 6 to 18 months. Delivering value directly to the integrated Jet book at 50+ airports within Europe.
What’s the role?
As Business Development Manager, you will:
Act as BOM (business opportunity manager) or business development manager for European SAV projects, including development within both existing markets (e.g. airport entry, exit & logistics debottlenecks) and new market entry
Support the Airport optimisation team with the development and implementation of new business models, including negotiation with external partnerships or agreements to capture identified value. Provide advice and analytics to support the decision-making processes.
Support the low carbon initiatives agenda for Aviation within Europe, including SAF (sustainable aviation fuel) scale up
Lead continuous improvement projects to improve overall business performance
Act as Management of Change (MoC) co-ordinator to oversee / drive focused execution of business changes.
Conduct all business activities in compliance with the relevant Trade control requirements
Act in accordance with Shell’s Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) guidelines and understand impact of HSSE requirements on own business.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders/partners to align on, and then to progress identified opportunities with disciplined execution of the ORS (Opportunity realisation standard). Accountable for managing the internal approvals process at all stages of project life cycle
Provide back up from time to time for the Airport Optimisation team.
What we need from you
You must have/be:
Preference for a degree qualification (B.Sc. or higher) to bring the capability to conduct analytics, draw conclusions with limited data, and translate this effectively in clear business steer / advice / actions
An excellent project manager
Experience in Supply Chain would be an advantage
A good deal making track record would be an advantage
Clear and written and oral communication style is essential
Collaborative and able to lead and manage projects cross teams to deliver commercial objectives
Experience in writing compelling business cases would be an advantage
Skills and Requirements:
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial focused mindset to identify and support opportunities for growth.
Able to develop coherent and compelling business cases by identifying value drivers supported by relevant analysis
Needs to confidently manage multiple projects simultaneously, being able to prioritise effectively
Manage multiple interfaces internally that requires tactical, mature and confident stakeholder management to ensure alignment and with common interfaces, and successful delivery through others.
Ensure alignment with Legal, Finance (inc. tax), Trade Compliance, SAV Ops and Customer Operations.
Clear and confident verbal communication tailored as appropriate to different audiences, with concise written communication to express complex opportunities
Provides monthly performance analysis to regional management on progress within the stage gate framework

A strong sense of commercial acumen with proven mindset and ability to challenge the status quo in order to improve business as well as ways of working.
Collaborative attitude towards stakeholders, colleagues and team members. A proven track-record of actively bringing others along on a journey would be an advantage.
