An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and experienced Business Development specialist to join a leading global law firm who provide innovative legal services and business solutions to clients worldwide. This is a great role for a talented and motivated individual to join a dynamic team, working alongside the Senior Business Development Manager for the Financial Restructuring and Financial Regulatory practices. The role holder will be responsible for meeting the business and practice development needs of these groups, while prioritising exceptional service to the firm’s lawyers, advisors and staff. The Business Development Manager will be expected to develop and execute effective marketing and business development strategies including identifying new opportunities, proactively seeking additional or new work and managing cross-practice initiatives and client and industry teams to expand business across the firm, including identifying cross-selling opportunities. Staying up-to-date with industry trends, you will provide your assigned practice groups with regular updates regarding new business opportunities, new and existing clients, market trends and competitive threats. You will manage and build relationships with clients and lead on pitches, proposals and responses to RFPs and related research and follow-through, including tracking wins and losses. On the marketing side, the successful applicant will prepare submissions for legal directories and awards, prepare and distribute marketing materials and coordinate conferences, seminars, sponsorships and other speaking or writing opportunities that align with practice goals to attract new clients, develop existing client relationships and increase brand visibility. The ideal candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with proven success working in a business development role within a law firm environment, to include experience working in corporate, investment management or tax. A self-starter, with outstanding leadership and consensus-building skills and a strong work ethic and service orientation, the Business Development Manager will be able to demonstrate excellent project management abilities and will enjoy prioritising and managing their workload, working independently and as a member of teams, to complete tasks under time pressure.
