A fantastic opening has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager in a primary global law firm. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone to work alongside the Infrastructure Sector Lead Partners, the Sector Leadership Team and the BD Lead for Infrastructure in Asia Pacific to develop and deliver the firm’s global sector strategy. This will be is a broad ranging business development role with a heavy focus on client relationship development. The role holder will focus on supporting the day to day and strategic Business Development requirements of the Infrastructure sector and it will be your responsibility to drive forward initiatives that you feel would directly impact on the success of the practice. The Business Development Manager will be tasked with the implementation of sector business development plans and will provide advice to sector partners on developing and implementing their business development strategy. Having developed a strong working understanding of the internal offering, external needs of the infrastructure sector and clients and issues in the sector, and become one of the firm’s experts in this space, you will need to develop strong relationships with the partners, fee earners and other colleagues in the sector teams. You will manage leadership and pipeline calls, contributing to the agenda, leading on discussion points and completing follow up. The successful applicant will work with the Client Relationship Partners to set the strategy for their clients, developing and implementing robust account plans and developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers. You will need to identify opportunities, undertake relationship and matter-related client listening and take a lead role in significant, cross-practice pitches. Providing ad-hoc client development advice, the successful applicant will manage and participate in the annual review process for the client teams of Sector Priority Clients and liaise with experts to package and deliver products for use by client teams to engage with clients. From a marketing perspective, you will be also be responsible for driving thought leadership initiatives, managing internal communications channels, developing client facing collateral and coordinating and contributing to market recognition related activities such as Awards, League Tables and Legal Directories. With a professional and commercial approach to business, the ideal candidate will possess significant experience working in a business development role with a particular focus on strategic selling, pursuits management and client relationship management, to include previous success in influencing at a senior level within a professional services or large corporate environment. The Business Development Manager will need strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trusting relationships with both the partnership and business services management, and experience working in a role associated with the infrastructure sector.
