Job description: HRGO are seeking a Customs Business Development Manager for our client based in Dover, Kent. This role is there to increase market exposure and penetrate new business opportunities through national and international prospects. You will be reporting to the Group Sales & Marketing Director and Group Operations Director.

Main Tasks

Use existing database to source opportunities to develop EU and UK customs clearance and bureau prospects.

Identify other means of further developing the prospect database including establishing contact with visiting drivers.

Issue quotations to prospects and existing clients and conduct prospect/client visits or telephone and video calls as required.

Handle and resolve queries from existing clients.

Work with colleagues (especially the customs team) to support new business development opportunities.

Obtain referrals from existing clients.

Maintain up-to-date information on prospects in the sales and marketing database and ensure all activity and pipeline information is logged.

Ensure sales pipeline remains sufficient to enable targets to be achieved.

Flexible approach to work and, where necessary, transfer or undertake other duties, within competence and reason, to meet fluctuations or priorities in work demands, which may necessitate out-of-hours contact.

Be willing and be prepared to react to last-minute tasks and react accordingly working with a can-do attitude encourage those you oversee daily to work to their full potential, whist maintaining a high personal standard.

Skills and Experience

Good working knowledge of current and past customs rules and regulations

Experience developing new business in the customs sector.

Ability to attract and secure new clients.

Ability to drive and embrace all IT solutions.

Strong organisational skills

Ability to convert prospects to secured business.

Ability to communicate with and present to prospects, clients and colleagues, at all levels.

Clear and accurate reporting

Strong communication skills and be well networked.

Motivated to succeed.

Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm
