Role Overview: As a Business Development Manager specialising in Industrial Tunnelling Fans, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding market presence for our UK based company. Your primary focus will be on identifying new business opportunities, establishing, and nurturing customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets in the industrial tunnelling sector. By utilising your strong industry knowledge and sales expertise, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our business.

Roles and Responsibilities: * Business Development:

  • Identify, evaluate, and target potential clients and market segments in the industrial tunnelling industry.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to penetrate new markets and expand customer base.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
  • Proactively seek out and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, tracking progress and ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within client organisations.
  • Understand customer requirements and develop customised solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to potential clients, highlighting the unique features and benefits of our industrial tunnelling fans.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and objections in a timely and professional manner.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing ongoing support and maintaining long-term partnerships.
  • Sales and Revenue Generation:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets for industrial tunnelling fan rentals.
  • Prepare and deliver value engineering solution sales proposals, contracts, and quotations.
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with clients, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as engineering, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of projects and timely delivery of products and services.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyse market trends, and provide regular reports and forecasts to the management team.
  • Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis:
  • Monitor competitor activities and industry developments, identifying potential threats and opportunities.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify emerging trends, customer demands, and competitive pricing strategies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the management team for product development, pricing adjustments, and marketing campaigns.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, sales collateral, and targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Liaise with the operations team to ensure efficient coordination and execution of projects, including timely delivery and installation of industrial tunnelling fans.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate pricing, invoicing, and timely collection of payments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the industrial tunnelling, construction, or heavy equipment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial tunnelling processes and fan systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Results-driven mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Analytical skills to gather market intelligence and identify business opportunities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
