Atkins Advisory team are looking for a Regional Risk Management Lead (Sr. Manager) – Capital Projects in UAE/KSA.

Our Advisory combines management consulting, portfolio advisory and technical capabilities to help clients solve complex front-end problems in the built environment through our Capital Projects Advisory Services. The Opportunity (UAE and KSA)
At SNC-Lavalin Atkins’ Strategic Advisory Services, Middle East, we are looking for a senior Risk Management practitioner, with focus on Capital Projects risk management. We are supporting multiple clients through our Programme Advisory services, including PMO and PgMO services throughout the region. Our clients require robust advise and risk assurance on their capital projects portfolios, and we are looking to expand our team.
Our Advisory team is focused on the following key areas:
Strategic Advisory in early stage on large scale Infrastructure, Transport and Urban Development programmes, from policy, institutional and capability development; strategic planning and strategic business case development to helping clients to scope their programmes and execution;
We provide Portfolio and Programme Management advisory services, to drive more successful infrastructure project delivery.
Ideally, we are looking for individuals with experience from Advisory and Consulting firms.
The role is based in the ME region and will require travel. The candidate will be exposed to a number of industries and clients in the Capital Projects environments – Infrastructure & Transport; Governmental and Private entities, Energy, Cities & Urban Infrastructure and work alongside experienced Consultants and Technical Specialists from our broader Group.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead and build our Risk Advisory services and support our broader Programme Advisory engagements with our Capital Projects clients with accountability and full management of the Risk Management capability and services.
You will also provide broader enterprise level risk management across our projects in collaboration with our commercial team, through guiding, overseeing, and executing qualitative, quantitative, and business risk assessments to advise the project directors, clients, and sponsors.
You will provide management and Risk Leadership for the broader risk management job family;
You will lead the implementation of programme risk management strategies and risk management frameworks across our client engagements. Including planning and facilitating risk workshops, identifying and developing programme wide risk management policies, practices and procedures;
Lead and facilitate the identification and analysis of risk and value management interventions on projects and programmes, including lessons learned.
Significantly contributing to the profitability of our business, through identifying business development opportunities with current and potential clients.
Identifying opportunities for new and integrated services, bringing the best from our global business, our technical domains to our clients in the middle east and beyond.
Using your knowledge and expertise of the infrastructure sectors to develop innovative value propositions
Build Team, recruit, interview, and evaluate prospective employees;
Identify personnel development & conduct performance reviews
Provide guidance, coaching and training to our junior staff.
Knowledge share with broader business;
Practice building & development
Contribute to positioning our Capital Projects Advisory services across the middle east through thought leadership development and active social media presence.
Actively pursue internal practice development
Requirements for the role:
Educated to Degree level or equivalent qualification or experience
15+ years experience within the infrastructure sector, with specific experience in Risk Management
Big 4, Consulting and Advisory environments or a relevant position with transferable skills
Proficiency in Project management including, Scope, Risk, Cost, Schedule and Resource Management (Prince 2; APM membership)
Working knowledge of IS031000 within Capital Projects environment
Risk Workshop Facilitation, Risk Treatment identification
Understanding of Programme & Project Controls processes
Able to build risk models which represent the complexities of cost, schedule, and business risk
Risk Management Information Systems & Software (e.g. Riskhive, ARM, Predict!) Monte Carlo Simulation (Cost & Time) (e.g. @Risk & Oracle Pertmaster)
Demonstrate drive, enthusiasm and commitment to projects while projecting a professional image
Excellent planning and organisation skills
Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive manner with a positive attitude
Function confidently and competently within client environment and has a positive impact on clients’ perception of Atkins
Planning and Organizational agility: Accurately scopes length and difficulty of projects, setting realistically aggressive objectives and goals. Compensates for roadblocks and looks ahead to see impact on dependent activities.
Shows flexibility in tasks and location, and deals well with ambiguity
Excellent communication skills – written and spoken English is essential (Arabic preferred)
