About us

We are Canvas8, a strategic insights practice operating out of London, NY, LA, & Singapore. We help our clients understand people so they can make better business decisions.

Our work is about investigating the hidden insights in everyday life – from the psychology of boredom to teenage make-up rituals to why Barbiecore is a Gen Y thing – and making them meaningful for brands. Our team is a blend of different disciplines and skills – from psychology to journalism, and anthropology to behavioural economics. What unites them is a desire to understand people and a passion for delivering outstanding work.

About the role

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be part of a growing Corporate Enterprise team selling into leading agencies and B2C brands across industries. Your focus will be on securing new and scalable business opportunities through a consultative-selling approach and proposing strategic solutions that focus on the issues crucial to the client’s future and performance. Your responsibilities will cover the entire end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery to proposal writing and closing deals.

Joining the EMEA business during a period of Global growth, you’ll have the chance to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced, and entrepreneurial environment, from which there are opportunities to build, grow and develop at an unrivalled pace.

The day-to-day

  • Meet quarterly and annual sales targets by converting inbound leads and generating new opportunities in defined verticals
  • Proactively discovering new opportunities to enter into your target market
  • Generating leads, building and managing your sales pipeline
  • Managing the sales process end-to-end – from pitching to trialing to closing
  • Employing a curious mindset to incoming consultancy briefs, whilst learning the full consultative sales cycle
  • Writing proposals, negotiating contracts and closing deals
  • Building and maintaining relationships with prospective clients
  • Work in close conjunction with adjacent functions such as Consultancy, Membership Services, Analyst and Product teams to exchange knowledge, improve and build new solutions

About you

First things first, as a disruptor in human behaviour and culture, we haven’t come this far without entrepreneurial spirit and a get-up-and-go attitude. So if you think we’ll see that in you, then you’re already halfway there.

Joining our close-knit strategically minded sales team, you’ll be fully immersed from the start and develop your own profile among communications agencies, media owners and brands. Motivated and engaged, you’ll build a smart and consultative approach to sales. Articulate and confident, whilst building relationships with prospects by understanding their challenges and offering solutions both face-to-face and remotely. As a quick learner, we offer full autonomy and continued support in identifying new opportunities for growth.
