Oliver Wyman’s Public Sector and Policy Practice advises leaders across all levels of government on developing innovative solutions to complex problems. Our work spans the spectrum of societal issues, including economic development, cost management, tax, security, labor, and governance. We leverage our deep understanding of the rapidly shifting socio-economic challenges facing nations and provide clients with the breadth of expertise across Marsh McLennan’s operating companies Marsh, Mercer, and Nera.

We understand the intricacies of policy design and formulation and have practical experience in helping public sector authorities stay ahead of the curve in a fast-changing world. We bring commercial best practices and public sector acumen to support heads of state, ministers, heads of agencies, and other senior leaders with their greatest challenges, in areas such as strategy, risk management, operations, and organization transformation.

Our focus areas are: public sector excellence, fiscal stability, culture & urban rejuvenation, national human capital development, economic development, anti-financial crime and resource allocation analysis.

The Role:

Collaborating with a global team, the Marketing Manager for our Public Sector & Policy Practice (PSP) will provide leverage to Public Sector Practice leadership in setting the content agenda and effectively taking our ideas to market across marketing channels—including, but certainly not limited to, content, events, media and public relations, and other innovative forms of digital and social media.

As Marketing Manager, you will also play a key role in the Practice’s growth, using tools like CRM to connect dots on marketing opportunities based on the firm’s business development goals. This practice intersects with other key Oliver Wyman sister industry practices and has strong connection to many of the firm’s capability practices as well.

As Marketing Manager you will need to be deft at making connections and pulling across ideas and expertise from the broader complement of the firm’s offerings in support of transportation and services clients. Finally, this role will also research, recommend, and manage the relationships for all event and other strategic partnerships and sponsorships.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing a global, cross-industry, content and event campaign pipeline: working closely with the geographical and cross-industry marketing teams on implementation of PSP-focused marketing campaigns—from development, to execution, to post-execution analysis.

Implementing project plans to ensure throughput efficiency against tight delivery deadlines.

Collaborating closely with the marketing Digital, Operations, Events, Content and Social Media teams to ensure maximum marketing channel success and leveraging of new and innovative mediums.

Communicating campaign objectives, execution plans, milestones, responsibilities, and results.

Contributing to marketing team meetings and planning sessions with Partners and marketing leaders across the globe. This will typically also include teams formed from our centers of excellence to address a specific project or need in collaboration with other functions across the firm (including, but not limited to, Knowledge Services, Design, and Information Technology, Practice Management, among others).

Coordinating with outside vendors (like event production companies, podcast producers, etc.) to ensure alignment and that campaigns continue to move forward.

Monitoring, measuring, and analyzing the effectiveness of marketing initiatives through the firm’s CRM and other marketing technologies and reporting tools, and using this data to continually improve the effectiveness of our campaign effectiveness in the marketplace.

Following industry trends and providing competitive as well as channel intelligence to effectively enable Oliver Wyman to participate in discussions shaping the industry.

Working closely with partners, principals and vice presidents and the Oliver Wyman editorial team to align on an editorial calendar and support the crafting and promotions of relevant, engaging and concise perspectives with a distinctive point of view.

We would love to see the following from you:

At least 5 years of experience with marketing campaign management, gained ideally in a management consulting or professional services environment

Experience of delivering marketing content for different channels, including social media and web

Experience of working with CRM and marketing automation systems

Experience of working across practices, groups, and/or regions (global experience preferred)
