What you will do
The Senior UX Researcher is a key role based in Dubai and will directly report to the Senior Manager, Customer Experience and Design.
As a Senior UX Researcher at Johnson Controls, your research is critical and foundational for crafting excellent products and experiences. Your research will advise strategy and design decisions for products and services built by Johnson Controls. With support from senior design leaders, you will collaborate across fields to conduct quantitative and qualitative research.
As a Senior UX Researcher, you will also provide guidance and mentoring to junior members on the team. To be successful in this role, you will need to be comfortable in working through ambiguity to translate research into insights that support great product and service experiences.
How you will do it
As a Senior UX Researcher you will evangelize user centricity in the organization and validate the desirability of our products and services. As an experienced research professional your role will include planning, recruiting, conducting, and presenting insights from quantitative and qualitative research.
You will collaborate with other researchers, designers, technology, product, and business partners to translate research into practical plans and insights that move findings forward. You will need to have proficiency, skills and knowledge to lead a medium to large size well-scoped project and feel comfortable working through ambiguity. Success requires a curious problem solver and storyteller that can identify key insights and present them in a consumable way for stakeholders. We are also looking to you to provide mentorship to junior members on team, champion research standards, and excel with minimal direction. You and your business savvy are crucial for connecting design to broader business value.

What we look for
Required
- Completed a bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) or advanced degree program.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as UX Researcher or UX Analyst within GCC region
- Recent or Past experience in UX research techniques and story-telling with ability to communicate findings that foster conversations on value and desirability for the end user/customer
- Knowledge and understanding of human centered design methods and approaches to product development
- Passion for outstanding design and crafting sustainable experiences that reduce impact on resources
- A life-long learner, who has a growth mindset with an understanding of user research, user experience, design principles and methodologies
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively manage time and estimate tasks
- Capacity to ask insightful questions, actively listen and support teams.
- Comfortable interacting and collaborating with teammates around the globe
- Good interpersonal skills, results-oriented and excellent analytical skills
- Excellent Stakeholder Management, communication abilities and strong presentation skills
Preferred
- Basic understanding of agile product development methodologies.
- Recent or past experience in smart buildings industry as UX Researcher
